Leeway Foundation Window of Opportunity Grants

Leeway's Window of Opportunity Grants program provides immediate, short-term grants of up to $2,000 to Philadelphia-area women artists to help them take advantage of unique, time-limited opportunities that could significantly benefit their work or increase its recognition. The grants are open to women artists in all fields — including the performing, literary, and visual arts, as well as mixed media, folk arts and community-based arts projects. The application process in straightforward, and applicants are notified and checks sent out within approximately 30 days of the application deadline.

In 2004, Leeway will offer grants only through the Window of Opportunity program. There will be four grant cycles, with approximately $100,000 available. Applicants must have secured a commitment from a recognized institution, organization or mentor for the project for which they are applying. Leeway welcomes projects in non-traditional venues with community and grassroots sponsorship. Leeway applications are reviewed by peer panels.

Deadlines and Notification

There are four deadlines in 2004. Leeway recommends that you select the grant cycle that most closely matches your need for project funds.
